Dr. D. Nithyananda Sastry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry at KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, along with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. His doctoral specialization is in the isolation and fermentative production of microbial pigments.

With 16 years of teaching experience, Dr. Sastry has contributed extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy education. His teaching experience includes 16 years at both the graduate and postgraduate levels, with his academic background spanning Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences.

Dr. Sastry has also developed experience in pharmaceutical research and industry, with 5 years of research experience and 4 years of industry experience. His professional profile records involvement in 15 research projects, including 2 funded projects, demonstrating his active participation in research and academic development.

His scholarly contributions include 8 published research papers and 8 research paper presentations at academic and scientific forums. His expertise in biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences supports teaching, research and knowledge development within the institution.
