Guidelines that support quality research, innovation, ethical practices, and academic excellence.

Preamble & Research Overview

KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi, recognized as a premier center of pharmaceutical education and research, is dedicated to cultivating an environment of rigorous intellectual inquiry, ethical scientific exploration, and high-impact translational research. The institution’s Research Policy outlines the core principles, administrative structures, and ethical frameworks designed to guide faculty, research scholars, and students in all scholarly endeavors.

Our research ecosystem emphasizes drug discovery, formulation development, clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical biotechnology, ensuring alignment with national healthcare priorities and global scientific standards.

Key Research Objectives

Quality Publications

Encouraging publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed indexed journals (Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed).

Industry Collaboration

Strengthening R&D partnerships with leading pharmaceutical industries and healthcare institutions.

External Funding

Proactive pursuit of research grants from government agencies such as DST, ICMR, SERB, and DBT.

Promoting patent filing, product development, and translational technology transfer.

Research Ethics & Compliance

All research activities conducted at the college must strictly comply with national and international ethical guidelines. The Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) and Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) oversee all human and animal studies respectively.

  • Plagiarism Prevention: Strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism. All theses, dissertations, and research papers undergo mandatory screening via advanced anti-plagiarism software (e.g., Urkund/Turnitin).
  • Informed Consent: Mandatory written informed consent for all clinical and human subject investigations.
  • Data Integrity: Accurate laboratory notebooks and digital data record-keeping are required for all investigators.

Seed Money & Research Grants

To stimulate initial research momentum, the institution provides financial support and seed grants to faculty members and postgraduate students for innovative pilot projects.

Note for Researchers: Proposals for seed money are reviewed bi-annually by the Institutional Research Committee based on scientific merit and feasibility.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Publications

The college encourages the protection of novel research findings through patents, copyrights, and industrial designs. The IPR cell provides guidance on prior art searches, patent drafting, and filing procedures.

Authorship guidelines strictly adhere to ICMJE standards, ensuring that only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions are credited as authors.
